WOW
There was no other greater feeling since my career as a medical student (up until now because who knows what else may happen in the future) then having your professor, Dr. V an M.D., come up to tell you that he's really impressed with you AND for the second time at that. OH, BY THE WAY everyone in my class is AFRAID of Dr. V because he grades really hard.
Well, my class had to do female and male genetalia examinations with patients that the school flew in from Miami. For the male patient we had to do by ourselves without supervision from our professor. But with the females, Dr. V (the M.D.) was there supervising and pretending to be our nurse. There were three people in my group and I was chosen to go second to give the female genitalia examination. I believe Dr. V's words were "let the young one go second".
So as i'm walking towards the patient Dr. V slides the chair behind me and him and the patient are saying "get closer... closer... closer... yes... closer... don't be afraid!" which, clearly i was very afraid. So I do the gynecological exam explaining everything I was doing and looking for as I went through the motions. Of course, the patient would tell me what I was doing wrong while I apologize and quickly correct my mistakes. But, at the end of the day Dr. V comes up right next to me (while we're watching the third student porform the exam) and whispers to me "you did great" and then leaves to help the student. Two minutes later "did you study? I can tell you studied VERY hard for this." Then that totally made my day and a huge smile came across my face and I then became less nervous , although still not feeling more compentent than I felt walking in to the examination room. But yes, compliments from M.D.'s... WOW.
Thank you Lord.
